Case Study: Takoma Park Folk Festival

Sorry, no posts matched your criteria.

Started in 1977 as a way to raise money to save a local theater, the Takoma Park Folk Festival has become a permanent fixture in Washington.    The festival is all volunteer run and is supported through grants and fundraising efforts.

When I entered the festival in 2011, there was a well knit executive committee but I saw some challenges right away.  There was very little coordination of the materials for promotion.  Every item seemed to be different without a real cohesion.  Where I firmly believed that each year the festival should have it’s own flavor and branded theme, it should all follow the same philosophy.

I have worked for TPFF since 2011.
